October 23, IFIF public relation- The C.E.O of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Dzulkifli Mahmud said that Malaysian big banks are now keen on resuming banking ties with Iran.

During Iran-Malaysia trade meeting held in Iran Chamber of Industry, Mine and Agriculture, Mahmud said that big Malaysian banks including Malaysia Central Bank (CIMB) are ready to resume banking ties with Iran after removal of imposed sanction against Iran.

The volume of mutual trade cooperation between Iran and Malaysia indicating 8 percent increase during the first 8 month of the current Iranian year (started on March 20).

In 2015, the value of trade exchange between Iran-Malaysia was 532 million dollars and both sides hope to rise it to 1 billion dollars.

Oil and gas, car, Halal food industry, electricity, information technology and communication, renewable energies and automation industry are the fields that Malaysia is interested in having bilateral ties with Iran, MATRADE chairman added.
